PG. 12 #8402 QC-40 INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE MANUAL
5.5 EVAPORATOR CONDENSATE DRAIN
HOSE INSPECTION AND CLEANING
1. Every 4-6 months, the evaporator coil and
condensate drain hose should be inspected for
blockage due to spilled food and sauces which
can accumulate about the base of the coil and
clog the entrance to the drain hose.
2. With the Slide-In-Pan-Rack and Rack Track
removed, remove the two screws at the bottom
sides of the storage compartment. Remove the
cover to expose the evaporator coil. Inspect the
base of the coil for food spillage, condensate
pooling and evaporator coil ice. If this area is
free of contaminants, cleaning is not required.
If cleaning is required, proceed with step 3.
3. To clean the base of the coil and drain hose,
first remove larger food particles by hand.
From the rear of the unit, locate the drain hose,
remove the free end from the condensing unit
drain pan and place it into a bucket. Flush the
base of the coil and drain hose with very hot
water until clean.
4. Return the free end of the drain hose to the
condensing unit drain pan.
5. Re-install the cover and screws.
5.6 MONTHLY COMPRESSOR AND
CONDENSER MAINTENANCE
Keep the condenser coils free of dust and
debris to insure proper air circulation and
cooling of the refrigeration system.
1. Turn power supply to the cabinet OFF by
switching the circuit breaker switch on the
main breaker panel to the OFF position.
Remove the front grille.
2. Using a vacuum or small hand broom, brush
the condenser coils in a vertical motion to
remove any accumulated dust or debris.
3. Replace air grill and return main circuit breaker
switch to the ON position.
5.0 — Cleaning & Maintenance
DEACTIVATE THE SYSTEM BY
DISCONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY
BEFORE PERFORMING ANY CLEANING OR
MAINTENANCE WHICH INVOLVES PLACING
